Dan Trebour, Camp Director

Coach Trebour has been the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Walt Whitman High School for 25 years. He was an All-County player and County Champion at WWHS before going on to play basketball and soccer at Albright College. He has been teaching English at WWHS for 27 years and has amassed 332 wins as Head Coach. In the past two seasons the team’s record is 42-8. His team was back-to-back County Champions and 2024 Long Island Champions. Coach Trebour was named Suffolk County Large School Coach of the Year by the coaches’ association and was named Newsday’s Suffolk Coach of the Year in 2023.


Ralph Milazzo

Coach Milazzo is currently a Social Studies Teacher at Walt Whitman HS and is the Head JV Girls Basketball Coach. He was recently awarded the 2024 JV League I Coach of the Year after this year’s undefeated 19-0 season. Over the last 8 years Coach Milazzo’s record is 133-6. He played a major role in the Varsity team’s back-to-back Suffolk County Championship and this season’s Long Island Championship. He is the Defensive Coordinator of the Boys Varsity Football Team who recently won the Suffolk County Championship in the fall. Additionally, he is the Head Coach of the first ever Varsity Girls Flag Football Team which also won a Suffolk County title.


Iris Hoffman

Iris Hoffman is a Walt Whitman 2024 graduate. She plays on the Basketball, Flag Football, and Soccer teams at Whitman. Iris played AAU basketball for LI Lightning for 6 years and she has been a player at the All Island Basketball Camp since the 3rd grade. She played under Coach Trebour for 5 years on the varsity team and recently helped the team win back-to-back County Championships and a Long Island Championship for the first time in school history. Iris hit 78 three-pointers this season and is a 1,000 point scorer. She was named All-State and All-Long Island, and was just awarded Suffolk County Player of the Year for the 2024 season.


Ray Hoffman

Ray Hoffman is a Walt Whitman 2020 graduate and a former collegiate baseball player. Currently he is working toward his physical education degree at SUNY Cortland. He played basketball and baseball at Walt Whitman, earning All-League honors for baseball. Ray is a former player at All Island Basketball Camp and has been a tremendous counselor for the past two summers.


Kate Hoffman

Kate Hoffman is a rising junior at The University of Rhode Island and is studying to be a registered nurse. Kate graduated from Walt Whitman in 2022 and was a 3 sport athlete in her 4 years. Kate played for Long Island Lightning throughout middle and high school and was a 3 year starter on the Walt Whitman Girls Basketball team, making 2 Suffolk County final four appearances. While Kate was a junior her team was league champions, and her senior year she was named captain. While Kate was very skilled on the basketball court she was also an absolute beast on the inaugural Girls Flag Football team her senior year where she played quarterback and led Whitman to a County Championship. Kate was also captain of the flag football team and was awarded Newsday’s Suffolk County Player of the Year.


Sydney Zambrotta

Sydney Zambrotta is a Christ The King 2016 Graduate. She played basketball at the University of Louisville for two years then went on to graduate from George Washington University where she played basketball and earned a Masters Degree. She currently plays professional basketball overseas in Israel. In High School, Sydney was a four-star recruit and ESPNW’s 56th-best overall player in the class of 2016, 16th best at the point guard position. She was a two time All-State player. She led Christ The King to a Catholic High School Athletic Association state title as a junior and was named to the MSG Varsity all-New York City first team. She has over 2,000 career points. As an eighth grader in 2012 she broke the Long Island single-game varsity scoring record, dropping 63 points to go with 13 rebounds and 11 steals. She was also invited to the 2014 USA Women’s U-17 National Team Trials roster.

Willie Petro Jr.

Willie Petro Jr is a Walt Whitman 2016 Graduate. He plays professional basketball for the New York Hoop Dragons in the American Basketball Association (ABA). After his first season with the Hoop Dragons, Willie averaged 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game to earn All-Star Honorable Mention. Willie currently holds the franchise record for most steals in a game. At WWHS, Willie excelled in both basketball and lacrosse. In basketball he was team captain, won team MVP and earned all-tournament honors. After High School, Willie went on to play lacrosse at Suffolk County Community College where he studied Sports Management. After two seasons he transferred to Adelphi University to finish up playing his collegiate career. When Willie is not playing basketball he trains athletes from six years old all the way up to professionals.


Meghan Soulias

Meghan Soulias is a Walt Whitman 2019 Graduate. She played AAU basketball for Long Island Lightning and was a 4-year varsity starter at Whitman. Meghan was Rookie of the League as a Freshman and a 2X All-County Selection who averaged 17 points per game. She graduated from Binghamton University in 2023 and is now pursuing a Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Queens College. Meghan walked-on to the women’s basketball team at Queens College and continues to show what made her such an impactful high school player. Meghan is a former All Island player and has been a camp coach for the past two summers.

Nick Carter

Nick Carter graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 2003. He was a Two-Time All Long Island selection while earning All-State honors his senior year. Nick went on to junior college at Suffolk Community and was named National Player of the Year. Nick finished his college career at LIU CW Post where he led the Pioneers to win the East Coast Conference where he was named the conference MVP. He took the Pioneers to the Elite Eight where he was named the East Coast Region MVP. After college Nick went on to play professionally overseas in 3 different countries. Nick now coaches at Walt Whitman HS as the Varsity Assistant Coach, helping the team improve their overall win total by8 games from the previous season. He also coaches AAU basketball for the 10u Team Tobias. Nick stays connected to basketball and gives back to the sport that has given him so much, and the campers at All-Island are lucky to be coached by him.
